We braved a bit of morning drizzle and pulled off another smashing street party to celebrate friends and neighbors – complete with bands, bubbles, activism, and a visit from Portland Fire and Rescue.

In addition to Cary and Eddie’s musical offerings, we were dazzled with jazz tunes from a local high school band, the Bass Pancakes – a truly talented ensemble of young musicians dedicated to their art!

All the kiddos loved the special visit from Firefighter Carrie and her crew – talk about charisma, class, and compassion for community!

I invited activists from the newly formed SE Portland Moms Demand Action leadership team – I am on my way to joining the effort on the ground floor. Stay tuned. 🙂
