Another Weekend, Another Shooting

With a broken heart and blood boiling in my veins for commonsense leadership on gun control, through tears of anguish and despair, I write.

“Hey Mr. Gun Man, buy a round for me
Take your time, I saved you a seat
Tell me your weathered stories and spill your broken dreams
Show me the fractured skies that sailed you to these seas
Meet me in the bitter chill of a lost lover’s heat

Hey Mr. Gun Man, buy a round for me
Take your time, I saved you a seat
Hold my hand, sip your drink, whisper your fear
Walk with me in the flames that ignite your grieving years
Share your laments, own your regrets

Hey Mr. Gun Man, buy a round for me
Take your time, I saved you a seat
With your finger on the trigger, thank you for your time
See my soul, believe in yours I tried
Staring down the barrel for a hint of the next sunrise

Hey Mr. Gun Man, buy a round for me “

We later learned the gun man had failed multiple background checks. Democracy Now covers the shooting. In the meantime, Texas has weakened its gun laws.
