Whirlwind Weekend

While Neve spent the weekend riding horseback, splashing in water parks and exploring lava caves in central Oregon with grandparents and cousins, Cary and I enjoyed a bustling weekend of music, miles, and memories. It finally came to a halt late Sunday night on the couch in the living room, and we caught our breaths watching the first episode of Mind Hunter. Cary had three gigs in three days in three cities: Friday evening in Stevenson, WA at the Red Bluff Taphouse. Saturday we ventured northwest for a solo concert at the Peninsula Performing Art Center in Long Beach, WA, and he rounded out the weekend with a duo gig at McMenamin’s Rock Creek Tavern in Hillsboro, OR.

In between the music, I was also able to sneak in a little activism home in Portland with the Oregon Chapter of Moms Demand Action. In the wake of recent mass shootings, I found much needed comfort, solace, and inspiration among the many conscientious advocates attempting to make meaningful progress on gun control in our communities.
